Main wiring harness routing by instrument cluster
« on: July 31, 2020, 09:49:00 pm »
So in pulling the heater box to fix the AC, putting the AC control panel back into the dash is causing some issues.  The main wiring harness seems to route right where the heater to AC cable is on the right side of the instrument cluster and then on the top side of the cluster. Trying to move some of these large groups of wires is not really working and it keeps pulling the AC control panel connectors  out of the switch when we get it into its spot on the dash.

Is the main harness supposed to route by the control panel and on the top side of the cluster?

hard to see in photo , but no . The MAIN harness  should be under/covered by the black plastic sheet above/forward of there , with connecting leads going to cluster and radio/heater ash light etc.  that sheet opens harness goes in , it folds and clips itself closed ... hard to describe maybe some one else can do better ??

This is how it should be routed.  It comes over the instrument cluster inside the black plastic trough and then dips down to the right behind the radio.

Thanks for the posts and pictures. Looks like when someone previously removed the cluster, it was just run directly on top of the cluster. It does seem to fit there fine, but by being up higher, it should move it out of the way of the radio and temperature control.
