when are yall going next year?  I want to go.
Sure, just like this year, everyone is invited.

Well, the weather this time was awfully nice.  Maybe same time again.  We don't want it to conflict w/ RJ.
Agreed, low-70's and sunny, it was perfect weather.   8)

I'll have my "smoker" fixed up good for next year.   ;)

Its kind of hit and miss that time of year. Of course its always warmer down there than northern Utah, but you could have 50's and 60's but you also could have 20's  and snow. Its still probably colder than Texas.
It is doable though, if you have a top and stay in a motel instead of camp, snow on the slickrock would be your only issue. I know several guys that go every Thanksgiving.

If any of you guys who attended Moab would like a VHS copy of what I filmed, IM me your address and I'll send you a copy.
Its not perfect filming but its still good. 8)

P.S. Sam, if you would like a copy I can send you one too.

P.S.S. GunPilot, I think Mo wanted a copy and I don't know if he's been watching this thread, so if you know his address or if you can contact him to get his address, let me know.

Hey this was a major fun weekend, I'm glad I went.  Maybe next year I'll have a Ramcharger and a a trailer to tow it down to Moab.  Hats off to Mohammed, He's a really nice guy and a hell of a gentleman.  I've developed a lot of respect for him after wheeling with him this past weekend.  what a cool attitude the guy has.  If it were me, I'd probably be way scared of damaging a beautiful truck like that but he just says, "it's just a truck, it's not a disaster if it gets damaged."  Without even pausing for reflection, he jumps right in and goes for the tough stuff.  Kuddos to Mohammed! {cool}  And kuddos to all the rest of you as well.  This was a weekend well worth spending with you all.

If you guys do it in April, I want to go.  However I am not so sure that a non lifted pickup on 31's will make it...even with a rear locker.  I might have a 2-3" lift by then, but no 33's since I just bought brand new 31's.
I'm too lazy to correct two people.

To those who want the VHS copies from Moab:
I will start recording them this weekend, and you should have them in a week or two.

Also, I wanna know which one of you clowns poked a tiny hole in one of my floats while we were in Moab? Who was it? Fess up! ;D
I've had the same floats for 8 years, then I go to Moab with you guys and all of the sudden my float fills up with gas and makes my RC die while taking co-workers to lunch. Embarrassing!
Luckily, my boss carpools with me, and it was in his best interests to let me fix my RC on company time! shhhh
    Apologies will be accepted! ;D

If it makes you feel better, I was in Moab in Sept. with no real experience on rocks, my stock RC, open diffs, 32" tires and went places I didn't believe I could go. They were all easy and moderate rated trails in the Moab 4x4 trail book though, since I didn't want to break my daily driver ;)

definitely a great weekend!!  It was great to meet everyone and see your excellent driving skills and awesome rigs.  I think that I had a better time riding with Mohammed and Snowflake and KThaxton than I would have just riding with McGuyver (sorry babe).  We really need to make this a yearly event.  I've been to Moab before but just gone hiking.  There are so many more things that you can see and experience when you drive over the slick rock.  Anyone up for Moab Rim?

    Hello all,

Yes, I should also mention how fun it was to ride with Dave (snowflake) and his dad, and Kendall and his wife Heather and the little one.  I agree that I probably had more fun riding with all of you than I would have if I had rode alone with Vicki (Vicksta).

I'll be there in April for the EJS, but the RCC Moab event will probably remain as a late fall thing.  That gives you even more time to get ready.

If you guys do it in April, I want to go.  However I am not so sure that a non lifted pickup on 31's will make it...even with a rear locker.  I might have a 2-3" lift by then, but no 33's since I just bought brand new 31's.

I'll be there in April for the EJS, but the RCC Moab event will probably remain as a late fall thing.  That gives you even more time to get ready.

Also, I wanna know which one of you clowns poked a tiny hole in one of my floats while we were in Moab? Who was it? Fess up! ;D

    Sorry.   ;D

Unfortunately I will be overseas next fall....I leave in May or June of 2004 for 6-9 months....April is about the last chance I have for wheelin'  What's EJS anyway?

Man, crawling through that Wedge was awesome!  I don't think the Ramus has ever been just on two wheels before!  Dave, be sure to relay our thanks to Tim for spotting us through that...he was very helpful.

Oh man, these pictures are making me want to go back and do it again!  I can't tell you how much fun I had.   8)

I just finished viewing all them thar photi-o-graphs (slow day at the office) and must say.....wow.....WOW!  I just have one thing to say to yous guys.....TOO DAMN FAR AWAY!   ;D

other than good brakes and lots of tread....what would the minimum be for someone to run out there?  By the looks of it, i doubts a stocker would roll through it....at least thems parts that were in the pics.

You could take a stock rig to a lot of places in Moab. Generally, magazines etc. only show the most hardcore trails.
The two trails we took were probably about the 5th and maybe 7th hardest of maybe 35 trails. Some of the hard trails also have by-passes for the hardest spots, which I took advantage of. There are also a number of trails that you could take a 2wd on.
Moab has something for everybody, except maybe frequent mud. It is the holy land. :)

It's times like this that make you glad you put a "contraption" on your carb to make it work better on angles.  It helps to have power brakes and steering on things like this.

My Holley 4175 never faltered on all these angles.  I was happy.

I too, was carb happy. This was the first true test of my Edelbrock with the $11.00 off-road kit, and it worked flawlessly, well, until I got it home and found out that Trenton poked a small hole in my float. ;D
