Np 435 bell housings
« on: July 11, 2020, 01:39:46 am »
Hello if this isnít the right place to post this or if someone knows where I can find the answer Iíd appreciate it. I have a 1986 w-150 with a slant six. Iím going to swap the slant six for a 360 and I cant seem to find a new bell housing for the np 435 360 combo for my year range but I found a bell housing from 1969-1980 np 435 360 combos. Will this work or do I just need to bite the bullet and buy a 727.

They aren't had to find, I have several of them laying around here somewhere.  The vast majority of Dodge trucks have been small blocks, though not as many were 4 speeds in the '80s, but you still have a lot of them out there.

whether it will work or not depends on the type of clutch linkage your truck has , and how much of the bellcrank system you have from the "older " truck .  If you have a clutch master/slave hydraulic on your '87 , no you need a newer bell .  I have a few 435/v8 mechanical linkage ones here ...

Yes, they were made from 1969 until 1987 I think. Since its small block that makes it more common & cheaper.
