440 is in pcs & ready to go the machine shop.
One lifter was wore through on the bottom & the lobe shot. Funny thing it still ran OK  ::).
The crank is a steel crank that was smoothed out on all the counter weights. The rods were done the same. Old school strengthening. Bores are .030 over & 0 ridges ;D.
    We will see.

    Oh yep!
The stock position is not an ideal location to run that with the Milodon pan.
Think how much oil needs to go into there to register.
The two I've owned... Milodon puts a fitting on the side of the sump.
You may want to look into that.

In the last set of pictures #8... That mount for the pick up tube caused me grief in my last 440.
Trying to torque that thin metal tab down to 85' pounds gives a false reading. That main bolt fell out for I don't know how long. I ran it for quite a while before I realized it. Upon inspection, I took off that main cap and noticed it damaged the block ever so slightly. The story...  https://ramchargercentral.com/mopar-trucks/my-'74-power-wagon-i-ordered-from-dodge-on-873/msg3149810/#msg3149810
After that issue, I relocated the tube mount to the windage tray.

Yeah. I tend to agree with that.
I mean, look at what happened to my engine. I'm not sure how long I ran it with only one bolt holding the #4 main in place. And it didn't even destroy the crank or the bearing. Granted it broke the block. But only a little bit.
Those Big Block Mopars are the "Rocks" of the engine world. For crying out loud... they encase the crank with cast iron. Look at a big block Shivet for comparison. The mains "hang down" from the block. Stupid, weak cheapness.

    Copy what I did.
You don't really need to go past 500 c.i.'s.
I'm pretty sure I'm over 600 hp at the crank.
And you really don't need the Six Pack. A healthy 4 barrel will do it.

transmission cross member is done now & shock X member is cut down & welded in.
I think all my welding on the frame is done so now onto the trans & Engine  ;D.

Trans will be a 47 RH or 618 from a v10 with lockup.
This is the trans I bought off Sam a while ago.

We did decided to do the stud girdle, 500"+stroker kit, roller cam & roller rockers, indy EZ heads.

The block is out to the machine shop that I have used from 1980 to now. It will be hot tanked, machined for the stud girdle & then line bored. It will also be decked, mag fluxed & cam bearings installed.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
    Jim

The 500+ was going to go into the first RC I started to build but I think I'm going to put some of the parts into this build. I have the D60 front & the D60 Hd rear with the 5:38's, Detroit locker, Strange 35 spline axles & disc brakes sitting for the old Rc. So if I paint them black I ban use them in this build. I have that 205 with the twin sticks & billet covers I can use also.

You are correct the other one looks to much LS so I'm going with the 4150 style. That should look really good on the RB  ;D.

    Glad to here that!  ;D
I curious how their controller works out. I'm happy you're the guinea pig on this.  ;D
Do they offer another option to get above that 550 HP cap? Bigger injectors?

Yes they have bigger injectors . I am going to call them this week & see what's available to use. When I was reading I thought they have 3 different ones & the ones for the 550 Hp were the smaller ones.

I also need to find out what my pump needs to supply to the unit so I can see if my pump is big enought.

I'll keep you guys posted on what I find out.

    - oh the things we have to worry about... :D
    Oh yeah.
I remember when I first went Big.
That was the one Dick Landy built for me in '91... well, his brother anyway.
I first sheared of the axle end off my 9". When I went to Currie to find out what I needed to do next... they noticed I was twisting the splines also. So it was an upgrade to 31 splines from the 28's. I had to change out the Detroit Locker at the same time. Thankfully, I was already running the 1350 Spicer U-Joints.
    Big requires more ummph.
Keep an eye on the HEI cap on that distributor with the kit. It is a big unit. The clearance with the head might be an issue. Something else you might ask them about.

Nice! Date of manufacture Mar/21? Parts from the future? Or would that be when certification expires? The way it's stamped, it doesn't look that way though.
I checked out the pro-flo 4 and looks pretty cool. I see they an have some Bluetooth connection problems, but some software updates seem to fix it. Too bad there wasn't a cord connection option as well, just to have a 'for sure' connection. Pricing is pretty good for that kind of set up too.
