« on: June 3, 2012, 07:31:01 pm »
Prayers needed for Dave, he had an accident at ram jam, He hit a hill and landed hard hurting his back. He went to the hospital yesterday, They said he had a fractured vertebra and they were going to look for more today and do surgery. I haven't gotten an update since last night. I will Post as I find out.

    DANGER DAVE! Good to hear your recovering! You gave us one hell of a scare. You didnt lie when you said you were going to give a show. And yes you did win "THE" Plack hahaha It was unanimous on who won that award.

     We did are best on getting your rigs back to camp. Put the front drive shaft back in the RC . While doing that we found out your high loc and low loc doesn;t work. But im willing to bet thats in the linkage. And for the jeep we tried to clamp the rubber line but the metal line literally fell apart. It was pretty brittle. So we clamped the hell out of it and got the brakes working good enough to get back to camp and onto a trailer.
    Take your time and get healed up. We will have another run when you recover. But if you break out the helmet again with one of those shit eating grins, im taking your keys!!! HAHA  ;D

    I don't know if you've had a chance to look at the video yet in closeup.  Will was showing us in slow motion and my wife, Yolanda, noticed that when your head hit the roof that it buckled from the impact.  You slammed up and down.  That was one hell of a shock on your body.  Also, you're real lucky that the spare tire flew backwards instead of forwards onto you.  After watching this I think everyone will be sure to secure theirs.  We're just glad you're okay, all kidding aside.   {yes}

    thnx everyone for your concern. i am doing better day by day. yesterday i actually went to bandera (20 mile one way) just to get ice cream at dairy queen. was a bit of a challenge but hey nothing compared to my next planned trailing trip  ;D. i did get out this morning in my yard for a few mins to assess  damages on the cj and the RC. of course i cant drive but all looks to have minimal damage. cj has 2 broken front shock mounts and a damaged brake line. as for the RC i am not sure ... they said it had a front end warble when it was being loaded. at this point it doesnt really matter. lol both will be totally different trucks the next outting anyways. wait till you see whats coming next...  {devil}
     you guys are great and i WILL be fine. doc says 6 months full recovery i am thinking driving in 3 weeks or so and full recovery in 4 months.

    Ok I tried this once and it failed. So here we go. Dave the Jeep just needs a new metal line from the proportioning valve to the driver frame bracket. When I tried to pinch the line I discovered that the line was rotten and kept breaking. Its about 2 feet long. Plus the line that blew and I would do the other side for good measure. The RC has a bad shake coming from the passenger side front. I had to put the drive line back together with the help of the other guys. That was a chore lol. The bolts are messed up that hold the straps for the ujoint on to the axle. I'm sorry about the line I had to put brakes back on it to load it..

    Dont forget the t-case doesn;t loc. I don;t think it loc before hand either. Meaning dave you been driving in two wheel drive!! that would explain why i would see the front tires spinning on the a hill but the rear wasn;t doing anything. I would hate to see what happens when you have a actual working 4x4 t-case out there  :o

    the jeep is an easy fix.

    not sure what the front shake is yet but it will be check on in due time. as far as the 203 ... here is what i can come up with

    the NP203 transfer case Hi or Lo positions works like an open rear end. All the power goes to the path of least resistance. If  the front or rear as far as that is concerned driveshaft is removed, there is no resistance due to the missing driveshaft so power will go in that direction.

     i ran into that on "Bob" my 79 TD. i called james freakin out thinking something was wrong. but that still doesnt  explain the rear not working in 4WD

    TOO many to list
    And YES i did lose my mind by buying a FERD

    After watching the video and seeing the pictures I am amazed that all you hurt was your back.  I hope you have a speedy and full recovery.  Looking at what was going on at Ram Jam I think it is best I was not able to go.  I am easily influenced and I can only imagine what would have happened if I was there.

    I hope you are not in pain and that your surgeon is a good one.  Best of luck.  Perhaps you should have been cited for not having a pilots license.  Lol.
