Return to base
« on: June 3, 2012, 04:00:04 pm »
We just made it back home, hope everyone else has a safe trip as well.

Figured out that my steering/ walking got a little worse after the trails and that somehow I managed to clog my A/C drain tube. I stopped and a gallon or so of water went o n the passenger floorboard   {noclue}

All in all not too bad for a first time out. I am going to unpack later as I need a nap, we were up way too late talking and looking at trail video's

    Been trying for a few hours to get pics to upload and it is not happening.

    So here is plan B:

    pic of camp from trail, trees obscure just about everything but it sure is pretty

    here is where the camp picture was taken from

    a sign for a trail heading off the tower. Dave attempted this trail but had issues, no one else was willing to attempt

    Here is a pic of me attempting to climb up to the tower

    here we are talking after a ride

    I will see if I can find a few more

    this is my first attempt of climbing... it took me a few times, but once I got it in 4 low it was not an issue.

    was a bit intimidating for the first climb, but it was loads of fun  ;D

    Interestingly my youngest (3.5 years old) slept through the whole thing and my oldest (almost 5) loved going up and down a few times.

     {wave}  Hey Ryan, how did your truck fare from Ram Jam other than the battery and tailpipes?

    Glad to hear you're feeling better.  Thanks again for grab handles.

    I can say the steering is a bit looser, but other than that pretty good.

    It seems to have held up better than my other car which stayed home. Drove it tuesday and it overheated 3 times on way home, looks like a blown head gasket.
     :(

    Not sure if I will fix it or not, its just an old car I drove around until the 2000 Ramcharger is done.

    I noticed that my tires were rubbing on the back of the fender wells but I'm not sure if it was from the tight turns or bouncing around. LOL

    The big thing was that those mesquite trees attacked me on this trip.  Looks like a thousand little gremlins keyed both sides of the truck and of course that one bear-hugged me from the back on the green mile.

    Good thing it's only a rattle-can jobber, but in any event,  I'd do it again in a heartbeat!  {cool}

    Naw, scratches don't bother me, I'm only funnin'.  After seeing all the dedicated trail rigs at this Ram Jam, it got me thinking about making one.  Hopefully with Ryan's (rjtx667) help I might be able to do that.  He thinks he might have a line on another vehicle and a V8 for this one as a tow vehicle.  Hopefully this pans out by next years G2G.  Time will tell.
