    As you can see, the finish on both, are more then rough. The Marlin needs a little trigger work, and a pivot pin bushing, or oversize screw.

    Both need cylinder lockup work. And Thinking of converting both to 22LR.

    Very cool George. Before the conversion comment I was going to make the smartass remark to the effect of "that's going to be a challenge reloading those".  ;)

    Where did you come up with those?

    Picking up another 1911 design .45 today. Buddy of mine is has hit hard times. It's a metro arms. He just bought it last fall. Only had one mag run through it. But basically, it's more or less collateral for a loan. If he wants to buy it back for what I give he can. It will have some miles on it by the time he gets it back though. ;D

    There some of the leftovers from my Dads collection, everybody has picked through it, and these were some of the ones left behind. My Dad always wanted to play around with refinishing, and engraving guns. I bet that was his intention when he picked these up.

    I'm more into the machine work, I was thinking on the Remington, make a new cylinder, that has octagonal flutes, that would match the barrel better. A simple relining of the barrel with a 22 liner. Then some sort of home plating kit, or maybe parkerizing, or something, but thats way down the road.

    Nice.

    What's better than 1 .45? 2.  Top one is a AMT Hardballer, the bottom is the Metroarms American Classic Commander I just picked up. Never heard of Metro before this but I'm pleasantly surprised with it. It's actually a quality piece. Just need to work the ejector a bit. Likes to throw the empty casing back at ya occasionally. Trigger is smooth, accuracy up there with the AMT, no failure to cycle/feed. Overall, I give it a thumbs up.

    I like the hammer on the metro arms.   {cool}

    Most of mine are colts, or Army 45's. The two I shoot the most, are a Para ordnance 14 shot, and an auto ordinance. both were worked over when I first got them. several thousand rounds each.

    My dad has a commander 1991A1, love that pistol. Had a EAA witness 10 shot 45 that he could shoot better than me and I could shoot his colt better than him. At the time we paid the same for both, offered to swap him and he said no. :'(

    I've heard good things about the para ordinance. Like to try one some time.

    I have to give it more time but as of right now I still prefer the AMT over the Metro.(habits die hard. I cut my teeth on govt issue 1911) Still partial to the 5" barrel but, I'm giving the Metro a fair chance. Like I said, work the ejector and go from there. ;) I have to be honest though, I like the looks of the Metro a little better. Duo tone, the hammer......... ;D
