Seriously?!? I drink beer. Not soy. Guys like that don't drive trucks like mine and own and build cars like mine. That's why I laughed so hard watching that video because it reminds me of a regular Tuesday. When I was young and dumb I used to LOVE jumping in bar fights! But that's funny you think that. I'm 5' 9" with a handlebar moustache that's hangs off my face, stocky build that always wears jeans and black t shirts and swears like a trucker (I'm praying to God to clean my mouth up) and has a temper like a hornet. I'm far from soft. I'm rough around the edges and have never taken gumph from anyone. Police used to never approach me alone. Not bragging (cause I'm in a wheelchair now and I can't), I'm just saying that I'm more of an asshole than a soy latte drinking guy. The reason I like Richie from Boston so much is because he reminds me of me (minus the Noreaster accent). Lol.

Handlebar mustache?  Do you ever get together with a couple friends and sing YMCA?

Sorry, couldn't resist.  Maybe we need a "post your pic" thread.  I don't think I've ever seen one on RCC.

Lol, no, haven't done The Village People yet, more like Burton Cummings. :P Other than me who stands 5' 9" to James who is 6' tall, James Hetfield could be my brother. Same 'stashe, build and style. (Only my 'stashe hangs off my chin more). Bring back the 70's!  😎

I always thought a "real man" is somebody who goes to work, is honest, pays his bills, helps people when they need it, and if they have a family they take care of them?  I believe that is a "real man".  It's hard not to judge a book by its cover, I am still working on that.

I never considered  mustaches like Hetfield's or Hulk Hogan's to be "handlebar".
To me handlebar is like Rollie Fingers.

Yes and no about the seriousness.  There are a lot of people who feel that you need to dress and look a certain way to be a man haha.

Lanty is right about taking this to seriously. This is just a result of having extra time on my hands and an observation but sitting around having coffe or beers with the guys (because this "pandemic" a lots for more time to kill than ever before) we pondered about how we remember when men were big and burly with lots of hair on their bodies, deep voices and weren't afraid to duke it out but now western men are more polished than my old aluminum valve covers are. I know I live in the Pacific Northwest and I know  we have a higher than average number of "left wing" millennial and Gen Z type men here but they are petite and hairless (except for their beards) and have soft voices and are wimpy. It's like they've genetically bread out aggression and body mass in the male species. It's just weird. Salons around here all have average female attendants but the men's barber shops are swamped all day every day getting their beards trimmed and softened and manicured. I mean, what the hell is going on here. Lol

Eh, I take care of my beard.  Mainly just oiling it and brushing or combing it to keep it from getting itchy.  Trimming is out of the question.  I trim my mustache to keep from eating it and my hair to keep from sitting on it, but that's it.    ;D

But yeah, I see both sides of it.  Growing up "men" were the guy on Brawny paper towels, John Wayne, or the guy in the Marlboro ads.  I can also see more of it's what you do and how you carry yourself that makes you seem capable, possibly dangerous.  The looks just sort of work out, I guess.  But the modern interpretation is what I would have called a homosexual at worst, or a mama's boy in the very least, years ago.  But I still stick to the ways of my ancestors, which I believe makes me look more like a man than someone who spends money for someone else to pretty them up.  But then, "pretty" was never what I was going for.  I do braid my hair on Wednesdays though, but that is because it's Odin's day.  Here's blurry pic at work on a random Wednesday that I took for one reason or another:

funny , its just how the society of the time looks at it .   when I was younger , a braided hair fella was harassed for being a girl ... long hair was NOT o.k. at all ,filthy hippy's  yet 100 years before that it was "normal " ... signs of changing times is all it is , I could never have worked as hard as my pop ounce did all day .... and a half dozen eggs and 3 pork chops were grandpa's breakfast ..... at 6 am after chores .... now you drive to the "office" with heated seats and A/C at 9 am where they all but demand you get in touch with your feminine side ... and only stay there 8.5 hours working very safely ...  In my life time alone , I slept on the rear "package try" under the window , played with knives and guns , never heard of a bicycle helmet , climbed trees , drove tractors before I was 7 ....  now you strap you friggin dog in the car and push yer cat inna stroller .... what do you expect ?

Lanty, you remind me of so many of my friends that I used to ride with and off-road with. I still off-road with them but obviously don't ride with them any longer. Ya you would blend right in. I'll have to get a picture of me and post it.

But here's what I was looking for, so please try to find this one and link it in. A girl in a gray Volkswagen convertible that circles a pro Trump function in a Portland park. Fairly recent. Last week or two?

Ironic & hysterical! I'll say no more...

Yep, that's pretty much how I expected you to look like in my head....

But I digress. I thought we weren't supposed to be using words like;, Man, woman, mother, brother, father, sister, he, she, boy, girl, male, female, etc, in this gender neutral world.... Which now had me more confused because I've also heard that these current peer reviewed scientists have determined that there are some 60-somthin' distinct genders.  ???
