As I was driving into the parking lot at the local yard today I spotted this...sure enough it was there when we were leaving so I snapped a few pix and thought I'd share...

It's what we'd call an LE...between the front/rear bumpers, side/fender moldings, alloy wheels, LE interior (AC/power windows/mirrors/locks/premium bench) but no badging to suggest the trim level.

Interesting paint scheme and tailgate panel though, plus the rear bumper is also a rarity this side of the border too (at least I haven't seen many). Also note the square mesh grill inserts...another Mexican-only part!  ::)

The fender emblems do say "Dodge 250" but who knows if they're original or not as they don't look particularly straight), plus being a reg. cab/shorty that'd be another oddity.

Lastly, the 3rd brake light above the cargo light...wonder if that was added or some came like that?  ???

On eBay right now is a '93 Mexican Dodge brochure and the trucks depicted bear very close resemblance to the truck I photographed yesterday (right down to the 3rd brake light). Very interesting!

That 3rd brake light would drive me crazy.  I'll bet they drilled another hole in the roof too to install that.

On a semi-related note, is the new panel on your RC from a Mexico spec ramcharger? Cause that I like...

I agree -- I wonder why the Mexican trucks went to the 3rd brake light before the US (wasn't required until 1994 IIRC).

You are correct, more specifically used on '94-'96 RCs.

Another thing I noticed on that truck and the ones in the brochure -- they have the chrome headlight trim versus the gray plastic like all of our '91-'93 chrome grilled trucks had! Crazy!

The 250 badge is not original, it was placed by there by previous owner. Same with 3rd brake light. Those trucks are called just ram truck, period. Very few 250 around down here. Main difference is color pattern. Some pw's around too, but not as common as the one in the pics.

As for the trim, I have also noticed certain differences between mx and us rc's. They didn't offer as many versions as you had (we have limited, sport and 4x4 in limited edition). Another difference I noticed is that my rear D60 is a semi-floating, 35 splines 5 lugs diff, while I have read that some of you guys with same differential, have 30 splines 8 lugs, right?

That's very interesting stuff! For 1991-1993 models we pretty much had the base trucks (no side or fender moldings, rubber mat, no console, crank windows, vinyl seats, usually a single color), LE (which were two tone paint, side/fender moldings, premium cloth seats, wood dash, aluminum hatch gate panel, etc), and Canyon Sports (all the LE features but only had the gold lower section of paint, the upper section could be green, red, white, or black. The grille was painted the same color as the upper color, lettering in gold and a gold pinstripe. They also only had the tan interiors).

D250 badging its actually correct for the truck , mx trucks called D-100 or D-150 ( depending on the year ) where 6cyl base , plain jane trucks.

D-250s where v8 trucks , either loaded with options or base but they all had a V8 360 , that one pictured has all of the options from a Limited Ramcharger , plus the RAM name started over here until the 94 body change ( the truck body did change on the same time as the US trucks ) actually a way to spot a US truck over here is to note if its a v8 150 and haves a RAM tag , it's a USA truck , if its a MX it has a slant-6 or from 91-93 its a v6 magnum.

third brake light is stock  , grill inserts are 92-93-94 and the honeycomb ones are 94-95-96 years , the panel is also stock for trucks only note the raised individual letters oposed to the stamped ones in US trucks ( I have one posted on the classifieds ) , the only thing that doesn't match with a D-250 Limited is the paint scheme wich tells us its an ADVENTURER or ROYAL or something like that as far as I can remember, like most local stuff you could order ir with all the options from a limited and so on.

drivetrain wise it should be a v8 360 TBI , A518 trans and a Dana44 Rear with gears either 3.55 or 3.73(optional) and could be optional anti-spin.

the only difference from that one and a limited D-250 its the paint scheme , a limited one should be painted similar to a US canyon sport only with chromed grille oposed to a painted one

on a note , MX trucks where never ofered in 8lug configuration except for 3/4 ton 1 ton work trucks chassis/cab , long bed was never and is still not an option in new trucks

Very interesting! Who know they'd differentiate trucks so much between the US and Mexican markets!

Also very odd that you don't get long bed trucks!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge -- it truly is interesting to know all of these differences!
