it will take more impact than you think. my ext cab in the pic hit a phone pole head on at 25 or 30 mph and it held up fine ya the grill got busted but it saved the core support and radiator. I stil have the grill guard it is pretty stright. got to love 70's steel.

What would it cost to get the uprights out of something really thick like 7/16" or 1/2"?  Perhaps out of stainless.  Do you think you could extend the bottom to allow for a second attachment hole maybe 4" back from the first?

They can be cut out of SS also but the cost would go up. Are you sure you need anything heaver than 3/8" thick? If you add 4" to the back bottom it won't fit behind the bumper with out hitting the mounts that are riveted to the side of the frame but it can be done if thats what you need. Just let me know what you want/need.

    Jim,

Give me a cost for the various thickness in regular steel and stainless.  I do a lot of hunting in the fall and frequently drive through rough terrain including swamp.  I have a 91 Ramcharger with an 8 inch lift and want to make a hardcore bar that will not twist or bend if I need to torque on it.

My brother is a welder and can fabricate the rest.  I just figured it might simplify things if he didn't have to mess with the uprights.  Thanks.

I have the vertical plates in 5/16" thick that I used on my 88 RC. They will fit but might need a little trimming @ the bumper cutout. The mounting tabs will fit the bumper mounting bolts,
    What do you think?

    Sorry for the delay!!

     5/16" grill guard plates W/4) 1/4" mounting tabs $96.88

I do not have any units done because of the shipping costs. I do offer the plates & tabs available. The Tubes would be cheaper if you got them @ your location. Welding would be required to assemble.

Are you looking for a Quote on the plates & tabs?
    Thanks,
    Jim
