coffee table
« on: December 3, 2017, 09:03:04 pm »
someone locally sells these for 500 a piece. Said he's sold 6 so far. Interesting little project if you have a busted up block

    I wanted to do something like that with a cracked 383 block I had but I wanted to torch out the inner webs and lifter valley and mount a mailbox inside.  I never could figure out a way to make the flag work that I liked though, so I never did it.

    cool coffee table {cool}

    ...I've always thought it'd be so cool to take an old unsalvagable 440 block, blast it good n clean, paint it oil-rubbed bronze, and prop it up on end and use it for a nice 8-bottle wine rack...   ;D

    Of corse, the block choice makes a difference, some blocks have more to look at then others. Beyond that, I always wanted to do a cutaway, with much of the rotating assembly in place, and a small motor to slowly rotate it.

    I also would love to cut an old 727 in half horizontally, and then put a glass top on it.

    I'm not sure about $500.00 nice...but good for him on that part. Aluminum would be easier to move around :)
    IF I had one I would probably be directed to put it in the man cave...well, the garage anyways..that's my man cave

    ..... {think} hmmmm - it'd be cool to do that to a 6BT Cummins - bolt the glass right to the top of the block and have the pistons come up n down - hayyy I may have to try that!  :D
