My 1984 Dodge W350 has Dana 60ís front and rear.
The front is open, the rear has a trac-lock limited slip.
Is it possible to take the track-lock from the rear diff and install it into the front diff? Would it work correctly in the front.
Thinking about putting a more solid locker in the rear.

It will bolt in, but depending on what spline your rear axle is, you may not be able to put the axle shafts back in.  A lot of Dodge rear D60s are 30 spline, and the fronts are 35 spline.  There are 35 spline rears, but they are not very common. If the splines are the same, it's a bolt in, with the usual ring and pinion set up.

    • Old iron is best!
As @Elwenil said, you almost certainly have a 30-spline rear axle and a 35-spline front, so swapping the Trac-Lok to the front isn't a good option.

Something to consider is your terrain and any winter-weather driving you may do. Lockers in general don't work well on snowy roads. They tend to push and understeer - OR (during a quick unlock, like when you go off the throttle) tend to oversteer in dramatic fashion when they release.

I live in AZ and love my lockers - both my Jeeps have selectables front and rear since all of the serious trails in the area basically demand such. That said, my RC sports a TrueTrac LSD rear (gear-driven limited slip) currently. I'll be going to a E-locker for the front once it cools back down (I'm running a 60/60 combo as well). Since I don't plan on lifting a rear tire too often in my RC, that should be plenty of traction for anything I'll need...

the power trax lunch box  lockers will lock when power comes from the driveshaft , when that is in coast , and the twist comes from either wheel , it will unlock , like when you adjust rear brake shoes , BUT if its parked on a hill with the driveshaft stopping it in park ( load on the shaft ) you can jack a wheel and it won't turn ...
