Anyone else watching this new show? So far it looks like it's Wyoming.

Gotta give it time to build the story line.

caught a bit of it on reruns a couple times.  I'm not a big cop show watcher, but seeing the Wyoming plates was cool.  i didn't catch what county he's supposed to be a sherrif in though.

Show is based on a book, the county is fictional, named after a mountain range near Dubois.

The show is based on a series of books written by Craig Johnson, I am reading them now. Johnson lives in Ucross, about 25 miles from me. Longmire is sheriff of Absaroka County, which doesn't actually exist. Durant is the county seat which also doesn't exist. A lot of the locations in the books are real though. The countryside in the series looks like the country around here but my wife looked on the internet and found out it is filmed in New Mexico. If fthat is true they are taking pains to mske it look like it is in Wyoming. A lot of the road signs appear to be genuine to me.  Its been picked up for a second seaon to by the way.

I like the series and intend to keep watching it.
