Speedo Cable- Cruise to Dash
« on: March 1, 2010, 01:07:50 AM »
I need to replace the speedo cable from the cruise control to the dash.  I have been unable to find one though.  Any ideas?

Have you scoured the junkyards?  Any pickup or RC will do.   Possible to have one made but I would imagine it is a bit  pricey.

Cheers

The dealer used to carry them. Have you tried that?

Got mine a few years ago.  There are places that can make them and some parts stores can still get them aftermarket.

I found that I can get a universal replacement kit for the inner cable that you can cut down to size.  My problem is that the plastic end that goes into the dash assembly broke.  I was able to tape it back together for now, but I am on the lookout for a replacement at the salvage yard.  The part has been discontinued by the dealer and all of the parts stores that I've tried cannot get the part.

The whole cable assembly is still readily available for non-cruise.  If worse comes to worse I can take the plastic end off of one of those and figure out a way to put it on the old sheath.

Thanks for your help! :)
