Offenhauser intake?
« on: April 15, 2008, 10:53:58 PM »
I just got a 75 Ramcharger. It has a 360 in it with an Offenhauser Intake n Holley street avenger carb. Any of u guys know if this intake is any good? It seems to run really good, but am wondering if i can get any better. Oh yeah still looking for a Dr. side window, I got the half doors.

i got a Offy on my 78 400 and really like it.  My understanding is that it is a quality truck intake.  there are probably better intakes out ther but the money for a new intake is probably not worth the difference in performance.  there are much better values for performance than replacing the Offenhouaser
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

I've heard they flow pretty good. To be honest, I noticed better throttle response andmileage when I was running a stock 360 4 barrel intak in my old rig. But I put the Edelbrock back on once I got it back from the shop to fix some threads.

in the 35 years l,ve been do,in this l,ve only had ONE Offy intake and it was a dudd / it was a Dual port 440 intake that didnt line up with the heads [ the bolt holes did but the ports didnt ]/ people say there good but l never went near one again after that / it just didnt run right / a stock intake ran better / thats my 0.2 cents

Thanks for the comments guys. Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, have been working on the RC and my best friend (my dog) died on Wed. suddenly. Think I am gonna keep the intake on for now and see how it works out. I just got done adapting a 87 column to the original ign. switch. Mounted the switch at the base of the column and connectd the rod to after some modifications. ;D Wiring is such a headache sometimes though, but hey it starts and runs, good.
