a few days ago i bought a 1989 dodge ramcharger which i have loved for years and i was wondering what it weighs b/c that will determine the max lift i can put on the truck
and also i was wondering where i could find a sway bar drop and drop steering arm
my 79 is supposed to weigh 4400, but it is more than that.
right now, with the shortbed top, it weighs 5200 empty. The shortbed top only weighs about 125 lbs..the factory top weighs more than that by a good amount.
thanks because the ride height is controlled by being above 10000 and below 10000lbs i think i know what my limit is but i was also wondering if bumper height laws are based on front bumper or rear i live in MD
No trucks or multipurpose vehicles with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less can be taller than 28 inches. A truck beyond 10,000 pounds - but not more that 18,000 pounds - can go beyond 30 inches (you Excursions owners just made it into that first grouping under the wire). Lift more than those 30, and you'll be ticketed and/or given a Safety Equipment Repair Order (SERO) to fix the violation
When i had the 88 body on the 4x with a 360/727/241 running 31" swampers with small amount of gear it weighed in at 4700 lbs. The 82 r/c w/ 440 / 727 (2x) weighed 4500.
That sounds more like it, I know for a fact that my 86 RC has tipped the scales from the dump at 5630 with me and gas in it.
