How hard to turn 2wd into 4wd?

Found a good deal on a 2wd 87' Ram 250 ext cab with 8' bed and was wondering what is involved in changing it into a 4wd or how har would that be?

you'll need a 4x4 Donner truck first off.

Then there is lots of rivets to get rid of a few holes to drill LOTS of measuring to do. It is doable and not too hard either but time consuming.

I think there is a thread somewhere that has a list of all the things you need and what needs changed.  ;)
I'd rather push a DODGE than drive a chevy or a ford!!!!!!

Jungles brackets are almost mandatory.
Avoid replacing any part that you have not proven to be faulty through extensive testing.

Other than printed sticker on hood, any other way to find out what gears in a truck and i assume the 2wd 250's had dana 60's?

Depending on the year I think some had HD9.25 rear ends.

You can pick the rear up and turn the tire. Count the number of rotations of the tire vs. pinion. The best way is to just pull the cover and look. You can change the fluid and check everything while your in there.
