freeze plug 2003 dodge ram 1500 4.7l

I need to know how to install a freeze plug.  I have the bad one out of the block but im not sure how to properly install the new  one.

    What happen to the freeze plug, did it push out or corrode.  I am concerend because I have an 03 Dakota with the same Engine
