Does someone make a rear-mount spare tire carrier?

I'm finally getting to larger tires (33's) and wheels and it looks like a larger spare might not fit in the original position on the right side of the interior rear. Does anyone know if someone makes/made a swingout spare tire rack for the outside rear of the RC?  This would be for an 86 RC.

You won't find any bolt on products but you could fab your own using one of the many hinges that are available for that purpose.

FYI, I am able to use a 33X10.50 spare in the stock location by extending the mounting rod/threaded stud, and by setting it next to the factory perch, instead of on it.

I also mounted a 33 inch spare inside...longer threaded rod and a 4X4 piece of wood for the tire to sit on. But my RC is older.

Tactical Armor Group out of GA had a really cool rear bumper set up with tire carrier to accommodate my 35's, jack mount, CB antena, inset tail/back up lights & gas can holder.  Just ordered that & a winch bumper for $1700.00 shipped to my front door.  Will let you know how happy I am when they get in.

Holy hell.  I need to get back into fabricating bumpers, lol.  ;D

Honestly, I went to their website and looked around and liked what I saw.  I'm seriously thinking about that rear setup for the wife's RC now.  Let us know what ya think.  For what you get, they don't seem too badly priced.

The shipping is what kills you.  A shop can make a very nice bumper and still turn a profit at around $350 but shipping costs almost as much as the bumper itself.  If you have a local fab shop with 4WD experience, that is the way to go.

$1700! Wow...that's more than I paid for the entire truck ! Well, I guess I learned something...I had thought that the 33's wouldn't fit but it looks like I may get away with this afterall. Thanks guys.

I would if I had the equipment and a shop to put it in.  Most of what is out there is overpriced and designed for looks more than usefulness.  There is just not a lot of demand for bumpers for older Dodge trucks so not many of the big shops want to deal in them.  Then there is the cost of shipping that is almost what a good bumper should cost in many cases.  I know a solution to the problem, just can't say anything about it yet.  ;D

That thing would be more trouble than it's worth.  Hitches sit too low on Ramchargers to begin with but adding something like that to one would be just begging for a rock or berm to tear it off.  The tire needs to be mounted high to keep it from killing the already bad departure angle.

Just a word of warning about Tactical Armor Group - Tactical Armor Group used to be called Kennesaw Mountain Fabrications and had the worst reputation and after reading some other forums the simply changed their name and did nothing to change their reputation\customer service.

There are reviews on nearly all the different off-road and vehicle specific sites where people have been screwed over by them, extensive delay's, bumpers getting to the buyer but requiring modifications and a few people even reported that their "ready to bolt on" bumpers didn't even have the mounting brackets welded on etc.

Here are a couple examples:

So just be certain before you deal with them you have done your homework and are prepared to loose your patience, time, and money.
