2 Barrel to 4 Barrel conversion?

Your Kickdown Linkage needs to be adjusted to match. I'm not sure on the exact/proper procedure though, it's been a while since i set one.

IIRC you want the Throttle Arm, Kickdown Linkage and the Arm on the Transmission to all be at the rear-most position when the throttle is wide open. Not one before the other, but all at the same time.

Thats pretty much it. Your kickdown linkage needs to be re-adjusted. The way I do it is: have someone ready to hold your throttle at the wide open position, engine off of course. Slide under the truck with a 7/16 wrench or ratchet/socket. Loosen the hold down bolt where the kickdown linkage mates with the transmission and make sure the lever goes all the way back, then tighten up the bolt. Drive it. You may need to do some minor adjusting from there to get the shift points right. Until you do this, do NOT drive the truck. You'll ruin the transmission.

Good question. I just figured he would have hooked the kickdown up.

Well it took a couple of days to get under neath it but that adustment worked great... The Bolt was actually a 1/2" and the adustment was sorta used to being in the same place for 20 years. So after I convinced it had to move it only took 10 minutes. And now she shifts nice and smooth about 35mph. Thanks alot ;D
