Tech Tips: The OSS sensor is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control the governor pressure. The governor pressure sensor is monitored by the PCM, so the PCM can achieve the desired governor pressure. As the output shaft speed increases, the duty cycle to the governor pressure solenoid will come down. The pressure comes up creating the upshifts.
No Trouble Codes and i think i may have found the problem.
My grandfather took it out on the road while i rode shotgun.. It does actually shift out of first gear, but not before hitting the Redline.. IE it's winding out at top rpm's before shifting.
We brought the truck back and i decided to check the fluid again (just to shut my grandfather up, incase you're wondering it's his truck) and While i was checking the fluid i noticed that the Kickdown cable has alot of slack in it
It must be stretched or hung up, you have to manually push the cable back after you open the throttle.
