Tony, if you can, it would be great if you can point me out other in depth tech threads that deserve recognition, the kinds with lots of discussion and handy info. Or atleast point newer members to this thread when a repetitive question is asked.

We need something to deal with the 203 swap to a 205/208/241 questions that is asked every other day.  And possible what is needed to swap 60's one too.

Ill dig through my old topics but I know I've started one about the necessary things required for a swap over from 203/2wd to 205/208/241. I'm booting up my laptop right now to accomplish that task.

Ask and ye shall receive:

http://ramchargercentral.com/index.php/topic,130201

Mostly a topic regarding how to convert a 2wd transmission to a 205/208/241 but there is information in there about the interchangability of a 203 to the later t-cases as well.

Perhaps an "Expert" like Leon (440 4spd Power Ram) should write up something definitive. Maybe even an entirely new thread for everyone who is proficient on the topic can contribute.

Good idea. And interchangeability with specific trans and T-cases.........  Yes

Like a Getrag 5 speed is a 29 spline and not 23 and a 208 won't work behind it.

And resources for parts supplies Smiley Like the difficult to find coupler for the 23 spline 727 to 205/208/241, and also for the getrag 5-speed 29 spline coupler Smiley

That's why the links are here, in something kind of easy to read. Now when a repetitive question is asked, instead of a long drawn out response, you can copy and paste a link for them to read. Direction them to this, the how tos, the FAQ, what ever lol.

Maybe we could get something started on the 2wd to 4wd issue.  It seems to come up here regularly.

Good call, although I think we need a thread with more technical data than that one. His truck is shiny, but I may have missed the technical how tos, pointers, parts sources ect ect.

Care to start such a thread? Even if you are not the expert, others will chime in with what they know.

Show me a link to a writeup (preferably separate from any main build thread, too much sidebar chatter), and I'll show you a new addition to the index.  Wink

You may very well be. After reading your thread I actually had to google it to find out the details as to what/how/why for a dana 300.
