late 80's early '90 mirrors
« on: March 13, 2008, 09:21:11 PM »
My mirror bases were OK on my 92 but the rest was broke and beat up. I couldn't find good Dodge mirrors in the junkyards so I grabbed some chebby mirrors, swapped bases and it worked. These are from a van. The chebby truck mirrors were all beat or rusty. These have a bend in the stem but some do not.

I sold some chebby mirrors a couple days ago to a man with a 91-93 Dodge. I told him he could bring them back if they didn't work, he hasn't come back yet.

Here's a mirror from an '87 Suburban on my '93 -- the stem is a little shorter but overall it works great. It also doesn't vibrate (blur) the mirror glass at highway speeds like the stock '93 mirror on the driver side...

Interestingly enough both mirrors/bases/base cover trim are made by "da"
