We wont tell, wait until we shovel it down your throat, then you can find out whats in the so called health care bill.  This is the demoncats idea of transparency!  holly crap, its getting worse every day.

Pelosi: we have to pass the health care bill so that you can find out what is in it

http://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/pressreleases?id=1576

After reading the speech, I belive the point was to say that with all the mud-slinging everyone has their own opinion on just what it does or does not entail.   People can read the same piece of paper and interpret it 10 different ways.

That is also my opinion of what she was trying to say.  Although, she did do a crappy job if that truely is what she meant.

That even gets more confusing, sounds like a drunk trying to justify herself having just shot the neighbors cat.

from the speech:

“You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other.  But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket.  Prevention, prevention, prevention—it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.

“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

#1 the republicans are right, we do not need 10,000 pages of a bill that no one can understand to improve the healthcare system.   100 small steps is much better then trying to fly, and falling flat on our faces.

#2 Do not tell me what you claim it says, show me where the bill says it says what you claim it does.  The people against the bill, have posted a lot of the portions that do what they say do not like.

People can read the same piece of paper and interpret it 10 different ways.
Then it is a poorly written bill.   That is why they can make such far reached claims like it will cover all Americans, when it will in fact force us to get coverage.

I won't refute that.  I think every legal document is written in jibberish.  There is a bonefide conspiracy, making legal wording jibberish just so lawyers can charge you huge amounts of money to tell you what it means!

Here is something my wife and I were contemplating?  We keep hearing time and time again, about how americans don't want this bill.   And this is based on polling, but who do they poll?  I've never gotten a phone call.

I'm just curious about how skewed a poll can be?  Unless you are really for or against something I would assume most people wouldn't take the time to answer a poll.

I would like to know that answer as well.  It is true that for most polls you can twist the results into anything you want.  We have one senator in mn who has said time and time againt that this legislation isn't the greatest bill out there but she is going to support it anyways. Roll Eyes

as skewed as they want. plain and simple.  Is a Harris poll any better then an AP poll?   No clue or an xyz poll?

I remember about 15 years ago, I got a call from a political sounding organization, they asked if I would participate in their poll. I said ok. first question was what party was I affiliated with, I answered None. They said thank you very much, have a nice day, and hung up.  Tongue

In College, I took a statistics course, one thing I remember, is that a lot of the surveys/ polls are done by charts.  In other words, how you answer one question, determines what question they ask you next.
