4-Door Ramcharger
« on: June 7, 2005, 11:37:27 AM »
i was looking at this beat up crew cab for sale today, and wondered what it would look like if i combined the front section of the cab with the rear section of the ramcharger i have, to make a subarban like vehicle. has anybody ever done this, or seen a picture of this?

That would be sweet, I really think Dodge should have made a 4 door RC.  They may still have been around today, instead of the Durango and stuff

There have been a couple of custom 4-door RC's made.  One was and still might be in Saskatchewan, Canada.  The other showed up at the Mopar Nats I believe.  As soon as I acquire a scanner I'll put the picture on this thread.

Um, it is photoshop.  ::)  And I didn't say it was a bad thing.  Photoshop is a great way to see just what it will look like before you even start hacking things.  :)

I gotta admit - If y'all hadn't pointed out that it was touched up I don't think I would have ever guessed those weren't custom fabricated trucks ;).  That's awesome Sam.  The reason I fell for it is because I'm doing a similar stretch to my 93 Cummins rig, if I ever get the 78 done, but I'm adding two quad cab doors to the back of a crewcab - a true 6-pak.  I've been thinking about a custom job like what you photo'd here for so long that I didn't even give it a second glance.  Sweet dude {cool}.

Here's my photo hack of the 93 project, just for fun:

that thing'd be feckin' huge, SamsRams. Dunno if the chassis could support all that weight in the middle, but it looks doable. And if Samiam didn't say anything, I'd have thought definately the top one, and maybe the bottom one were real trucks, though in the seam between the two doors on the bottom one you can kinda see photoshop marks. Great ideas, too bad I'm too poor to do anything like that, it'd be one hell of a summer project.

yeah it'd be pretty long, and being a lifted dually it'd be pretty tall and wide.  The biggest reason for doing the quadcab suicide doors is for the rear passengers - they'll be able to recline the seats and snooze while en-route to the shows.  Additionally, the seats would be removable for major cargo space inside, and as well the back area would be ideal for luggage, tools, whatever I don't want stolen out of the bed or soaked by rain.
The pic here is of an 85 crewcab I had, and it was pretty nice so I had good photo's of it.  The frame I'm using is the one under my 93 diesel, and it'll be stretched about 4 feet and sectioned.  Along with other frame mods, she'll hold ;).

:) i have seen a picture of it in a 90's magazine, there was a company in the States that converted Crewcabs into 4door Ramchargers...i'm still looking for the magazine as i can't find it anymore in my "pile"...That really should have take that into production, it would have blown the competition away.

There was a place in Washington state in or near Spokane IIRC that did that to broncos and other trucks.

I had always wished that they would come out with a quad cab door version of the RC.  Not too big to change the wheelbase, but would make access to the rear seat easier.
