2012 Dodge Ramcharger?
« on: May 30, 2011, 11:09:26 PM »
Well, here is my version of what I think Dodge should build next.

This could be the base model.

Hey those all look pretty sick man. Especially the one that you would do. Yours is the best looking model. I guess I would buy the Big Horn Edition, but with an R/T package. Because I want a 6.4L in that thing. haha.

How about we get rid of that ugly stuff under the front suspension and put a straight axle in it?

Maybe that could be the "power wagon" model.

Trailduster79 - Ask and ye shall receive.

I found this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL Quad Cab on the web and thought, NICE Ramcharger.

Just to make things completely understood as far as any copyright concerns on these or the original pics. I find these pics on the web of quad cabs. All of my transformations are more than 33% different from the original picture and are for informational purposes only (and of a truck that doesn't exist, YET!!!). I am not selling them or using them for advertisement and they are free to download if you choose. Thank you for your time and consideration.  ;D

Nice drawings
Not a new concept though ,
Was done before in Mexico

Dodge Ram Charger 1999 P2

In 1999, a new Ramcharger was produced in Mexico based on the second generation Ram pickup and using parts from the Dodge Ram pickups and other Chrysler vehicles. Sold only in Mexico, where the previous generation Ramcharger had been quite successful, it was not offered in the U.S. Because of this and other issues, this generation never enjoyed the sales of the previous generations of Ramchargers. Powered by the 5.9 and 5.2 Litter (360 CID and 318 CID) Magnum V8 and offered only in 2WD versions, it was discontinued around 2002. One of the most interesting features of this generation was a small folding seat in the cargo area, facing sideways, not a full-sized seat, making it uncomfortable for long trips. The rear hatch door was borrowed from 1996–2000 model Dodge Caravan. The Mexican-market Ramcharger was probably not marketed in the U.S.because the SUV market was favoring 4 or 5-door SUVs as opposed to 2-doors. Also, DaimlerChrysler already had two successful mid-sized SUVs (Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango). Two-door SUV sales have been declining, to which GM ended production of its 2-door Tahoe and Yukon, and Ford replaced the long-running 2-door only Ford Bronco around the same time with the 4-door only Ford Expedition

Here is one that was made.... not just a drawing.  It's a little too clean and flashy for me but it give me ideas as too what I'd want mine to look like.

You guys overlook the best feature

The Hard top convertible / bikini top.

Build a Ramcharger that is like a jeeps big brother. How many  JKs have you seen lately? People want a family size topless truck. Solid axle, front and rear locking 60's. 3 speed transfer case. Hidden winches front and rear. Low stance on 38's ..... with a waterproof interior that looks great and is comfortable. Is that too much to ask? haha

I live in Canada and still would rock that topless 9 mths a year.

I found a real good pic of what is said to be an '04 Mexican Ramcharger.  ??? Coming it's a truck. Going it's a van. I guess you either have to love it or hate it, depending on what direction it happens to be going when you see it.  ;)

The new Durango is a nice rig, but man I wish they would build a Ram-burban with a Cummins in it ... so a decade from now I would be able to afford it.

They didn't offer it in USA (only Mexico) , due to not meeting federal vehicle safety standards , Doubt they'll attempt it again , cost would be to high to meet those standards.

if you look at it real close it looks like a durango r/t from that time frame and they barely met safety standards. im mopar till the day i die but if they keep killing off good vehichles they wont get any more money from me. atleast they took a step in the right direction and made a bigger cummins. if they did decide to build another rc i would be selling body parts to get one and even though i couldnt drive it im sure someone would take it wheelin for me just strap me to the hood.  {lol}

That is an absolutely awesome concept truck! I would buy it in a second! Have you considered sending that concept to Chrysler? Id even post it on the Ram truck page on Facebook. I bet itd get a lot of positive reviews.

That's awesome. I bet Chrysler could figure out a way to use a half ton single cab short bed as a platform for these and make the transition pretty easily. Just as long as a Hemi 6 speed is an option.  ;D Where do I sign up?

Thats what I was thinking too. Its not that difficult. Im sure there is parts that can be taken from other vehicles, like a Durango liftgate maybe?  I mean even if it was only a custom order package, itd be worth it. I think its a concept they should seriously consider re-introducing.

My 2012 Ramcharger:
Outdoorsman Package
Red/Gray two tone (has a Canyon Sport feel :) )
5.7L Hemi V8
Tow Package

$34,000 for the regular truck so about 35 for a Ramcharger? lol

Probably be more like $43-$45,000 due to all the engineering for safety ratings , plus designing of all interior panels .
Much like the reason the RC was dropped from line-up in first place .

Well the Durango has the 4 door SUV slot for Chrysler pretty much wired. It would be nice to see one with an off road package with a semi Power Wagon setup in it. Lift, lockers, tires, etc. Too bad the bean counters would probably say there isn't a market for a 2 door SUV.

I'm a purebred Mopar nut and would love to see that concept brought to life . But as big business goes is not a bonus . A man created a convertable concept for the Challenger and told Chrysler it could be done with off the factory shelves for all the parts . They told him it cannot be done and would not be practicle . The man was a little ticked off at the quick shoot down of his idea and went to work on it . And like Mr. norm eventually did , this guy made the convertable with convertable parts from a Sebring and it worked out and looked good . He sent Chrysler pictures and told them if it can't be done and with in stock parts ,then how did I make one then . I do not know for sure if it was that man's concept that is now on the Mr. Norm's Barracuda convertable or not . I sure hope you can get the new Ramcharger on the production line . It looks amazing . I like the Durango but as mentioned , not having off road packages or other choices has me wondering Why not .

The new Durango Citadels are ugly as Hell, and AWD instead of 4x4  :(   2011 Durango

You know the more "CRAP" they put on these things make the drivers even more stupid and less alert.  {no}
I'd rather push a DODGE than drive a chevy or a ford!!!!!!

Sure would be nice to see 2012 Ramcharger.  Have 2 and 4 door options.   Gas and diesel available too.   :)
