Very worthwhile. I don't know for this, but I got an electrical manual with a service manual for an older car and it is almost nicer than the service manual.

Interesting. I've mostly seen those removed and all kinds of ugly underneath them. I like them better on, cool to see a car's original dealer. (or near to original)

yea i think its cool dont know if it will stay but maybe i can get one made an put it back.
there was a sticker in the window from East Carolina University where my mom graduated from right before they bought the RC there aint much left of it from the sun but i could tell what it was.

my plan was not to mess with the gate yet but i rolled under the truck to run the lines on the rear axle to each wheel and i was lookin at the brake line runnin back from the front ans i dont like it but it look pretty attached to that rear piece of rubber hose so ill have to wait to get one of those and then finish it all up.

Question is there a breather tube on the rear axle that comes up from the that rubber hose for the brake lines. it looked like a breather i couldnt think of any other reason theres a second line off that block on the rear end.

well a few hours yesterday an this is how far i got on pullin the drivetrain. it took more time diggin threw the caked up dirt on this thing to get to bolts but they all came out nice.

man am i glad im not usin that tranny too. there was sludge comin out the backend when we dropped the tcase.

it was easy to drop with that little plate my brother in law made to sit on the jack. just bolt it to the case and it was so easy to drop.

It should go back in the way it came out. You need to use the RC drive shaft in the rear NOT a truck. But the trans and transfer case will bolt in the same way.  Wink

OH YEAH and you need to swap out the T-case switch from the 208 to the 241 you are putting in also. The 241 may have the vacuume  switch for a CAD unit. You just need the light switch with the two prongs for the 84.  Grin

i noticed that the there was a np fitting an a hardline on the top of the case. it was goin to rubber line im guessing that was the vacuum line. and i dont think i saw a vacuum ball on the front anywhere.

Yes take the vac switch out of the 241, there will be a 2 prong switch in the 208 in the same spot as the 241 vac switch, take that out and put it in the 241. All it does is turns the 4x4 light on in the dash.  Wink

BUT as you said, your truck had a CAD vac actuator and needed the vac switch on the t-case. You won't need that for the RC since it has lockouts.  Grin

It's an 84 it has a NON-CAD D44 in the front. That means it has auto hubs or lockouts.  Wink BTW I have a set of lockouts here for the RC. You can get rid of those auto hubs they stink!  Sad

It is plug and play all you have to change is that switch buddy.  Grin

sounds good ill take the lockouts sure. i think my autos are doin sometin funny.  cause it wouldnt move on its own i would steer it as it rolled back down the driveway. so  i noticed that one of the hubs would be engaged everytime for the first hundred feet then let go so i want lockouts anyway so that will be awesome

If it's an after market carb/intake there will not be as many. You will need to get rid of and plug the ones not used.  Wink

Make sure you keep the ones needed though like the one to the heater controls, the dist, and brake booster.

ok i got more takin off tonite. before i ran out of maskin tape to mark stuff with. but the starter is unhooked,
the shifter links are off,
fuel lines are unhooked,
and a few more wires.

i got like 3 more wires that are a buger to get on the back of the motor and ima drop the manifolds so we can hook chains to it. to pull it. and pullin the motor n tranny is the task for the weekend. and i will achieve it.

ok so the old motor n tranny are out. i was shootin for gettin the new motor in but i got too many things to do to the new motor. first off theres twice as many vac lines on it than the other. the new motor is a 87 360 so all the smog shit an the vac for the tcase. so i got the wires sorted out i think an the vac lines i think.

ok first question. it looks like it but can i put the 318 manifolds on the 360. they look the same. but the 360 manifolds have those smog tubes on them. an i dont like those.

second. will the oil pan from the 318 fit the 360. i thought it would but i havne got it off yet. got the 318 pan off .an went an got a new gasket for a 360. the new gasket has to two long cork pieces an 2 rubber pieces. the old gasket has two big rubber pieces. an the new gasket has one big rubber piece an 1 little puny thing.

No it won't.  Sad

I would pull all the smog crap off the 360, then only put back on what was on the 318. By rights if you have to get it "emissions inspected" you only need the 84 318 stuff on it.  Wink

That is just a vapor can. It sends the fuel vapors back to the tank from the carb. No wires just hoses. Then you need to plug the return line to the tank too.
