well my uncle in NY gave me this 84 RC about 3 weeks ago i been workin on it over the weekends so here goes. cool thing is i know the history of it cause my dad bought it brand new in 85 from the dealer who used it as a demo. the dealer had a front locker put in as well and its posi rear already. my dad sold it to my uncle in 92 and hes had it ever since so now i get it for FREE. here we loaded it up and we did get it moved further up. then the pic with it fully on the trailer. we realized it was to far back so we got it moved up. it was originally a 318 4 barrel and my uncle put a single on it. heres the passenger side little work here. drivers side little work there too. Interior typical i have the door panel and the spare with cover. itll need a few trim pieces that are broke but its not bad. my dad put these visors on the month after he bought it in 85. i love them there definitely staying got the front seats out so i can see what the floors look like cause being from NY they got me worried drumroll please passenger side is ok. dirvers side theres a small hole. wait cant see it. there it is. yea he didnt last much longer it was too hott out. oh yea buddie got it runnin sounds good with a blowed out muffler so i drove it up to the garage from the bottom of the yard today: replaced the hose on the front axle cause it didnt have brakes. still dont. i put some fluid in the dry master cylinder and got fluid to front passenger wheel but now the hard line on the drivers side has a hole so thats next weeks project. couldnt get the rear wheels of when we went to get it from my uncles so we didnt get them off today and then the ebrake adjuster fell out soooooo the shoes n pads look fine but i think ill spring for some new hardware and just replace that. i jsut like how high it was sittin so this is what im shootin for haha like it wil ever happen this is primarely a winter truck for now. cause an SRT4 Neon is not winter friendly.

Cool that you know the owners that well. Decent truck for the price. I like it anyway, there are worse starts. To be honest, your floors might be better than mine.

yea i went and got the title transfered today since i got it for free i had my aunt right me a reciept sayin i paid a dollar for it and she said thats all thats needed in NY for it to be a ligitimat sale. so i went to the lady and she said it wont work in PA for an outof state vehicle it has to be at least 500 bucks. so if it dont work i gotta go back n pay her another 30 ontop of the 47 i spent already.

Really? That's odd. There's too many drivable things out there under $500 for me to think that's proper even if it is right.

You should be able to do it if you fill out the yellow form at DMV ( I forget the number I think it's DT 8-something). You fill it out as if she gave it to you and I think a PA title has to be notarized. I do it all the time with older vehicles. You can even go on the NYSDMV website and download it from there.

Yes the lady is pulling your chain. You can do the "free thing" and it will cost you $5 to have it notorized, no tax needed!

hey at least i had a brake peddle now. so the garage i was at is up a hill . well i started it to gp back down the driveway to its parking spot and my fatherinlaw decided it was the right time to see if the alternator worked and he pulled the battery cable and it dies. then wont start casue the battery is a junk one and didnt have enough umph to start it up again . so we figured its on a good hill just gimmie a push . well now with the little bit of pu,pin its holdin the front brake on and it wouldnt roll down the hill they had to push me to the bottom of the driveway. haha. so thats next replace the other front line and ill bleed the front brakes. then start on the rear lines.

ok i got to work on it some more. of course the wheel that was seized was the 4th wheel to be checked. it was the front wheel that doesnt have the new brake line. the drivers side has a new line. well got the bleeder out but junked it in the process. got a new bleeder in. but im a wait to fully bleed it till al the lines are done. when i took the caliper off the passenger side the pad fell apart. so i put some other pads on it to keep it mobile.
i went to the parts store and got a list of prices and i didnt like any of the numbers he was telling me bu oh well such is life.

that happend to me on my way to my parents house. i had my daughter in the truck. i had borrowd my parents 83 rc fro winter so i was takin back i come up to busy intersection in Winchester VA and with 1 truck in front of my i hit the brakes and it dropped to the floor. i started pumping furiously and awas about to nail the ebrake and it stopped. then sittin there at the light it dropped to the floor again and started rollin an almost hit the truck when it stopped. i was 4 hours in the 8 hour trip. well i got off the road and went over the whole truck n couldnt find anything and they worked the rest of the time and there still fine as far as i can tell.

ok so i feel like i did a hole lot this weekend. i work on the car some too but the truck is the important thing so heres the bags of parts i started with this weekend 1 rubber hose to the caliper 2 wheel cylinders 1 brake hardware kit 2 ebrake kits new rubber line n hardline going across. so i was trying to figure out why the calipers were stinkin when i took it off the pad fell apart you can see the pad material not attached to the metal backing i cleaned the slide surface hopein thats what it was an i think the calipers are shot so ill need some oh theres my foot too. i cleaned the backing plates with a wire brush before the new parts new wheel cylinder heres new hardware

I have found it to be much easier to get calipers and usually cheaper too once you figure your time to rebuild vs just insatlling

putting it in is easier because you already have everything loose as long as you remember where the wires and hoses go it is simple if I can do it anybody can
