    One of my bumpers is rated for 7000 lbs, that fits most needs. Most receiver hitches are only rated for 5000 lbs, unless you have an equalizer hitch, then they go to 10000.

      humm o.k. better than most I've seen LOL , bolted to the frame side and bottom with the same ? 1/4" formed plate rather than the 6 side mount bolts with the 11 gauge factory bumper brackets .

    I think i might just fix the Fey Bumper (weld shut holes for trailer recepticles) and paint it the same grey it came with... keeping it simple.
    Then add some kind of recovery equipment tow hooks lateron.

    Today i ordered a sample for the large tailgate trim clip.
    Is there any interest in these parts overseas?


    Found a solution on how to install the DODGE emblem on the hood, during removal i destroyed the original metal clips fastening it in the three bores:

    Use the clips from a future race truck that will have its hood recreated in carbon fiber  ;D
    So that's done as well.

    Ordering the headlight adjusters and window guide felts today.

    tow hooks , the oval shape holes in your frame are for tow hooks called tee hooks , they insert , and turn into place . they are in different planes on the frame . a tee hook with a chain grab hook attached /linked  works well .

    I looked over the damage on the bumper it came with (it looks just the same like the stuff sold today) and i think i can whip up a few patches and reinforcements, weld the diamond plate back on, bend the one corner back into shape (angle iron for the corners) and have it painted.

    I was thinking along the lines of lifting it juuuust a hair... like 2.5", not more than that. I need to clear the garage door  ;D


    Today i took delivery of 300$ worth of trim retainers... before mourning the loss of budget, i proceeded with installing them and the trim.
    Hurts...

    Last things really "needed" for completion are the glass runners for the doors.
    Install glass, steam clean front axle, replace front brake hoses, flush system, get it inspected and tag it.

    Should be road legal the end of this month  ;D ;D ;D

    Then i found the manifolds to be leaking as well... i guess they will meet the belt sander and receive a set of remflex gaskets...




    Also fixing bozo moves. I broke off the ground tab on the tank sending unit (remember this is the special TSB sending unit with the feed pump built into it).



    I am getting really good at this. It takes me 15 minutes to extract the tank from the truck...

    The ground tab was not really damaged, it just snapped at the spot weld. I was able to solder it back on.

    as risky as it is / sounds after the engine has warmed , I snug the exhaust manifold bolts .

    I do that too... did not help, still small leaks, i guess due to a slightly warped manifold.
    The bolts and studs have been replaced when i installed the new gaskets, i don't think they will snap.

    humm , I managed to with a hand 4 inch grinder straighten a set of magnum manifolds ,,,  If there had been no pretrusions a belt sander or inline  would have worked easier . A milling machine ?

    Milling them would be nice but i think that is way too much effort for manifolds that will warp again over time.

    The belt sander should do fine to level the ports to eachother and give a nice sealing surface for the remflex graphite gaskets (expensive but work very well).
    I do not intend to take off a lot of material, just a general cleanup...

    I grew tired of constantly having to recharge this darn battery.



    It lacked a cover for the positive battery post anyways so i solved two problems with Mother Huldas old Bosch S4.



    This thing sat on the shelf in my shop for two years disconnected and it held its charge really, really well.
    For comparison: the old Duralast is rated at 660cca, the Bosch is 740cca.

    When fully charged, the Duralast starts the engine no problem, but if it doesn't start (like when your fuel tank is empty and you don't notice) it's dead after the second 15-sec try.

    The Bosch is like "come on, is that all you got?"  ;D

    humm LOL yes , we had a carbon pile load tester at work , the new batterys we got were allready "wet " , they said 900cca but you were hard pressed to find one that did 200 on the tester ..... fully charged and brand new .many different "low bid" brands . excide was about the best of them ...

    Newest reproduction parts on the truck. I know the material is way too thick but that's all i had right now.
    Consider it a prototype.







    The factory duct would not fit any more because i changed the AC plumbing during my SD709 conversion.

    nice ! even with the new wrong radiator .  I installed one for a '93 , "book" says , yeah well the bolted together radiator bolts didn't clear the frame crumple zone "kick" the 93's have .... does now after some re-drilling ... ::)
