Will a fuel pump assembly from a 91 ramcharger setup work in the place of the older 89 model. On the same tank. I'm unable to locate a new drop in assembly, hanger and all for my 89. But there are plenty of complete units for 91 models.

You might be able to make it work but there made a lot of changes to the pump module in '91 and it's a different setup so it's not going to just swap in.

well I know they changed the plug, but it still has the 3 hoses, feed, return and vent connected to it. But its controlled by same pressure regulator right? Same auto-shut off. Are the openings in the tank the same in diameter? My question, I guess, is has anyone done this before?

I really do not think you could get one to work, the 89 mounts with a hose clamp like device, the 91 mounts with a screw on cap. I think there is about a 1" difference in size, but that is from looking at them at different times.

Can you get the whole tank from the 91? that would be simpler for the future, the 91,2 & 3 use the same pump.

No I dont have a 91 fuel tank. Just scrambling to get my RC back on the road. My pump plug is melted on the side. Along with the top housing that the plug goes to"#4" on the drawing. Also #9 is cracked where it fastens to the top piece. Unable to locate another. And this looked like a promising possibility. Since they're made as one piece.
