Was there ever a 4-door RC?
« on: December 21, 2010, 04:21:52 AM »
Blazer has the Suburban

Bronco has the Centurion

Was there ever a 4-door Dodge offered?

The Suburban wasn't a 4dr Blazer. The Blazer was actually a 2dr Suburban, when you consider that the Sub existed for decades before the Blazer. The Centurion Bronco was an aftermarket creation, built by Centurion Vehicles. They used an F350 Crew Cab as a donor and grafted a Bronco body to it and sold at Ford dealerships as an option. I do not know if Centurion Vehicles ever built a 4dr Ramcharger, and I do not recall if Dodge ever offered such an option thru the dealer, but I have seen a couple of home built 4dr Ramchargers.

Ah, true.  I think the Suburban is the longest running model in history.

And, yes, the Centurion was an aftermarket creation much like a conversion van.

But that would require an analysis of this story that involves some nuance, extra reading, and empathy. Better to just make Ayn Rand jokes and mock the dumb, low-income bumpkins for mistrusting the government.

Suburbans used to be station wagons. It just wasn't right to make an early wagon and not name it a Suburban.

So did Plymouth. The GMC brand used it. It was very commonly used for station wagons. The Fury wagons into the '70s were called Suburbans.

I remember being in a truck like what was first posted.I was like 12 or so.Myself and a number of kids from the local ski team were heading back into town from a day of skiing . my dad and the owner of the truck were up front,I was in the back...driver lost control and spun it 360* down the road without putting the truck in a ditch or taking out fence posts.

A couple years after that we moved and I don't know what ever happened to that truck.IT WAS A NICE TRUCK(for a ferd). 7.3L Powerstroke,4x4,dually,wood grain interior panels,AWESOME stereo, red shag carpet dash cover, red carpet, red headliner. It was painted exactly like that truck. IIRC it was a 96.
