Murder for personal profit or any sort is as old as Cain and Abel. I'm talking about wanting to kill yourself but taking many innocent others with you. It's not like it hasn't happened before, but the rate of larger-scale sensational incidents is increasing in frequency.
The ability of instantaneous information distribution to the masses is why it appears to be increasing....24hr news, internet, cell phones, etc....like PG said it has remained fairly consistent, only the "here it is in your face has increased dramatically".... Paul |

I do not need to ask other LEO or prior LEO. I ran EMS for 8 years at various levels and we always hated the "domestic" calls for the very reason you stated. They were always the ones with the most potential to turn really ugly really fast.
Did I ever mention I was on the debate team in school and just like arguing? lol
Wasn't the parking permit. It is the horrible nightmares I have about the large red hair.
I agree. It could have been one of those "cry wolf" situations. You hear and respond to the same place so many times and it is always nothing, and then the one time you let your guard down it is not the normal "nothing happening' situation and we end up with 3 officers down.
Refer back to my debate team comment. With enough thought on the subject I am sure I could come up with an argument that would sway a lot of people. But for this thread/topics sake I was just arguing to be arguing. More or less keeping it alive until some of the people I wanted to see post actually did.
I also agree with this being a potential good thing to come of this.
I agree with Danny on this. These things happening is nothing new. They just get more airplay.

So it appears you have moved out of the nursing field....and have taken up trapping for a living....  ....I must apologize for leaving out EMS/Rescue on these calls (I had forgotten you had mentioned awhile back about your EMS cert)....in our area, LE always seemed to arrive on scene before hand....with us calling you guys in if needed once it was secure.... I was never on the Debate team in school....but I did argue with my three sisters alot....   Paul |

That would be me....and you are correct in showing respect to another....yet here we had our President, one that would be considered equal to any other country's leader bowing to the Saudi Arabian King....consider the following: Bowing originated as a gesture of subordination, as lowering the head leaves the bower vulnerable. Bowing to other human beings is frowned upon in Muslim cultures as all human beings are considered equal and bowing is only supposed to be done to God in Islam. There are several styles of greetings used; it is best to wait for your counterpart to initiate the greeting. Men shake hands with other men. Some men will shake hands with a woman; it is advisable for a businesswoman to wait for a man to offer his hand. A more traditional greeting between men involves grasping each other’s right hand, placing the left hand on the other’s right shoulder and exchanging kisses on each cheek. Just a few things that apply to Saudi Arabia....based on all things considered surrounding Pres. Obama, answered or un-answered, "the bowing to the king" just doesn't sit right for what its worth.... So Sam, that's my take on it.... And in some cultures bowing is a sign of respect, regardless what class, importance or hierarchy. Others it is simply a greeting. You could argue nodding the head is the same as bowing. The point is he did it out of respect, not to disrespect, not because he was scared, not because he thought the other guy was better then him.
