The bed on my truck is getting pretty bad and I have been debating doing a flatbed. Anybody do one and do you have any pictures? I haven't been able to find any pictures on here. I would like to see what it would look like. My brother has a nice pair of Jobox tool boxes to put down each side. Just throwing around some ideas in my head! Thanks.

I'll dig up the ones from my FIL's flatbed I did 2 years ago on his Dodge.  ;)

Is this Flatbed-y enough for you  ;D

(2nd truck, the cheby)  :p

You don't care about the wheelbase, right? Cause it's got a tiny wheelbase of about 21'  ::)

Check out what dak360 did to his LWB in "The RESTRICTED ORANGE truck" build thread in the truck pic section....

OK Billy here you go. I made this one from scrap steel, and new pressure treated lumber. Cost $400 total for the materials.

Thats because they have that heavy sheet metal side skirts on. take them off, and it looks just like any other flat bed. Since it has a metal deck, I think it has less bracing then what you used, so it is probably lighter then the one you made. I thought it would be heavier, but does not seem that bad. Tammy and I were able to push the truck through the yard, by hand.

I definitely do not like how they did the  rear trailer hitch.  But I'm just going to make this into a flatbed trailer, and use it for a big welding table.  ;)

Thanks for all the replies! I think I may have gotten lucky. I was thinking on how to do this on the cheap when I remembered I have an old flat deck trailer ay my brother's house. Sure enough, it's the same size as my bed. It has a diamond plate floor and the sides are angle iron, something along the lines of dak360's orange truck. I figure just pop off the axle, springs and tongue, paint it and I should be good. The trailer was used to haul a large Ditch Witch trenching machine so it is strong. I hope it's not too heavy!!
