This is the way I purchused the truck .the truck is a fatory 318ci V8 automatic with factory Air Conditioning . Originally it was a black exterior on black interior from factory . The truck sits 4 inches in front and 6 inches rear lower . The truck has been lowered in a way that the fatory Dodge truck rear leaf springs and the front coil springs are still used , aswell as the stock spindles and brake assembly . The AC system is in the process of be replaced with a BeCool AC/heat system . The fire wall has been smoothed over because the new AC/heat unit is ompact enough to almost disapear from sight in the cab .
The factory 318ci was pulled and rebuilt .
A master rering and bearing kit was installed .
Along with a Edlbrook cam lifters , performer plus intake and carb set .
Carb was damaged in shipping so it was sent back .
Later on I was on Summit Racing looking thru carbs ,
and found that Holley rebuilds the Carter Thermoquads like found on most Dodge 4 barrel V8 .
Oh the 5 inch tall 14 inch air cleaner is from Summit too its a K&N style that comes with the chrome top and your choose of bottom carb plates ,I choose flat to clear the Thermo quad .
The white gauges in pics before are white gauge stickers that you just put on your gauges .
Best part is that all the gauges i looked at was $19.95 no matter what year make or model .
They have them for the 75-80 Dodge truck/RamCharger 81-93 truck/RamCharger and so on .
The gauge sets come with all the gauges that was offered in the years you are looking at .
And they offer the LED bulbs to replace the factory ones .
This is colors I have choose to re cover the 2000 Dodge 1500 bucket seat and concole .
Using the avocado to do the inserts and the camel tan to do the surrounds .
more pics! more pics! nice build your doing. kinda nice to see more 2wd dodges being worked on here lately. i love the green color you picked for the body. keep up the progress
The front signal lights were being replaced with 68 Road Runner front signal lights when i got the truck .
My Dad was doing the work for his uncle that owned the truck previously .
When I got the truck and saw that the RR lights were not in good shape ,
I decided to replace them with 3/4 inch LED circle lights .
The first 4 pics is the work my dad did 7 years ago lol and the 5th pic is when i reworked the light area cutting out what was done and welding in a differant piece of xtra fender to smooth out the area .
The last is how I am painting the inside of the fender to match fire wall and door jam .
First picture is ,
Back yard where I attempt to build my trucks lol
Daily driver is Black 2000 Larimie 1500 4X4 on right ,
Blue 83 was Parts truck of the 75 Duallie under the canopy ,
And my 77 D100 2wd "Key Lime" lol
Last 2 pics is how the truck sits now as I wait on weather and pollen levels toclear enough to do some more paint work so I can get this lil demon running and rollin .
Got tired of the tarp over the engine so i bolted the unfinished nose back on her . lol
The 77 up on my lift so I can get under to get this lil Biotch rolling down the road lol .
Replace rear end with a 2000 Ram 1500 9-1/4" rear w/3.55 gears and a Mopar Locker .
bolts right in place no mods needed . Spring pads only 1/2"-1'' wider over all .
Sitting the axle faces 4 inches wider so that
2002 Dodge 1500 factory 20 inch Daisy style mags fit without spacers .
**Wheels to come later after its all painted and road ready**
I had to change out yokes of original 9-1/4' rear end to the 2000 one ,
so U-joint on factory 77 drive shaft would bolt in .
Started to set 3 inch exhaust system to find out what needed to be modified
or made so it will all hide away up in the frame . Those are Summit Racing mufflers ($30 each) ,
They look and sound just like FlowMaster Series 40 mufflers ($95 each) at almost a third of the price .
Should never have looked in here...making me want to work on my 79 D100.
Nice project you have, is it sitting at ride height on the lift? I'm partial to the cop wheels like on the front in the one pic and they will be my go-to wheel on my 79.
first of it needs to be on level ground to work SAFELY .lol
And best if you have a concrete pad or asphalt to use on , dirt and grass yard is HELL on knees .
I have a 1/2" thick rubber mat under most of mine for now .
You sit on ground if its a low vehicle and on a cart or a rolling seat depending on lifted vehicle .
I used a furniture cart/dolly (its 6" off ground) to sit on to change trans in my stock 2000 Dodge 1500 Ram 4X4 on 31" tires .
Lift tilts ,With nothing on it it will sit in tilt position , like in lower pic with truck on it , if you leave the ramps latched . Latch is just a L-hook that slips over a bolt extended off frame .
Lift pivites on middle legs and when enough weight gets on front if sit down leval on the ground .
Loading a vehicle on lift is like doing a tilt table ,You ease in the thottle till you feel it nose down and ease on the drakes , you'll go down nice and slow . lol
Lift is 2 indivisual up rights with two 1-1/4" thick wall tubes (cross brace / width holders)that have a hold bolt on tube that the cross brace slides into . You can see rear cross tube in middle pic . Crosses are placed close to the legs .
If you need more info let me know .
I'll try to remember to do some measurements and drawings and a material list later If any one wants it .

Are you sure you just didn't steal that lift from a used car lot? I see them use them to display cars on lots around here. Looks like it works pretty slick.

HAHA It was on local new car dealership for years . Till an X-employee drove a $50G Cadilac Escalade off the front of it . Ending up down the 50 foot hill it was sitting on its top on Main street lol.
Owner fired the guy and said "take the lifts to the scrap yard . My Uncle was a salesman and he as he would pay scrap for one . So after it sat in his yard for 5 years . He ask me to sale it for him , he wanted what he paid ($150) , So I gave him the cash and hauled it to my house lol . I had to replace cross bars when i got them they had rusted in slide tubes . I made sure new bars were well greased with lithium grease that was water resistant . Makes it easier to adjust to differant width vehicles .
Later on I'm going to change cross bars out to 3/16 wall 2" sq steel tube , measuring sets of holes on ends for exact center to center measurements and use Reese hitch pins to lock it down for differant vehicles.
