Decided i better start a build thread for this truck as there is a lot of work going into it. Here is the truck as i bought it.

The next day we started in on the flatbed. 2x2 3/16 frame work going on.

My filler neck solution.

Scored some 3/16 diamond deck for free to build the deck with! Grin

The next weekend we started in on the bedliner, note to self that stuff really needs some primer to get it too stick on bare steel.

Truck done, sorry i don't have pics after we did the bed. Huh

Had to put this on!

Got some of the wiring issues fixed, was never so happy as i was when the cargo light lit up!

The next weekend saw the rear springs getting repaired, had a broken leaf in one and reverse arch in both stacks. Replaced the broken one, added one leaf to both sides. Once again no pics. It ended up bringing the rear up about one inch over stock height.
The next project was the front bumper, i started out with 4 in channel that was notched and bent back, then added some 1/8 in dd to the top for a platform to stand on. Next came the bottom piece's i used the drop's from the top plate to make the sides and angled them back, i cut a filler piece for the center and tacked it all together.

Then i added these gussets every foot where the dd meet's the channel.

The next part was no fun at all. Trying to get the damn thing mounted! Went with 4 in channel on the outside of the frame running forward with a piece of channel on top to get the hieght i was looking for.

Once i had the correct height of it came again to weld everything and add bracing. I dont have plans to put a winch on this bumper, just looking for something strong enough to pull with. Still have to add some plate steel inside to use for shackle mounts.
Then while i was looking around the shop i made the decision to reuse the old bull bars. A little measuring and cutting later this is what i came up up with.

Had to get the forklift out and play a little Grin

Next weekend the stock fuel tank is coming out in place i'm gonna build one to mount on top of the flatbed. Then i can run new exhaust inside the frame rails to get some more ground clearance and not worry about punching a hole in the plastic tank.

sweet rig, I see one ton axles in its future from the way the build is going so far! Very nice fab work BTW! Like the bumper, LOVE the bed, excellent work! Do you have a sheet shear at your disposal? And a nice bender it appears..... those front uprights on the bed look cool I would be curious to have seen how you made them

No shear, cut everything with a plasma. The gussets were something left over from a job at work. The front up rights are fruehauf trailer rear bumper mounts turned upside down and shortened. Some of the perks of working in a shop that does trailer repair. Grin

Cool! You're very good with plasma...... A buddy has one I get to play with but I'm not overly good with it, I get the job done just not super pretty.... Its probably not as big or nice as yours but i'd still kill to have it....

No real progress this weekend, did get some better pics of the truck taken.
Checking the flex at my buddys house.

Went down to the creek to check my trail cams. 12 hours earlier it was out of its bank.

Yeah, planning 60fr and 60rears, crossover steering, 4in lift, slider's with boatsides, shackle flips, 35's or 37's. Maybe a 203/205 doubler, just gonna have too wait and see what happens next!
