I've had this truck since 2006. Before my dad passed, it was his and he gave it before he passed. It's a warlock. I've only seen one of these ever in my hometown and it's seems to be extremely rare.

Now to stop all the mushy stuff, she needs some body repair and cancer treatment, specifically in the driver side floorboards. She currently has no motor or trans, no seat(s) or any interior.... Now for now I have a fairly nice 318 I cleaned up and threw a edelbrock street master intake on and a 750 cfm eddy carb. I plan to have my 727 core rebuild with atleast a stage 1 shift kit(maybe more if I decide to get a 360). Now what should I do for the rear. Should I find a 60? Or stick with my 9.25? Also I have a guy who has a motor home with a 440 and headers already. Now should I stick to my small lock configuration or up it to a Big Block?

Sweet man. What was the original color?

Hard to go wrong with a big block. I'm guessing it's originally a 360 truck? If you're going for an original-type resto, go with a 360 (if that's what it had). But if you're going more a modified-resto route, my vote says 440. Or a nice 408 stroker 360 maybe...

Looks like a good project either way

Warlock line was open to all engines available in pickups, I believe, so slant six could have been ordered. And Dark Green Metallic was also available on the Warlock.

A Warlock needs more than a slant six though, just off the name alone ;D

Agreed!!

But I was thinking and always thought it would be cool was to make a sleeper out of her. Take the 318 I have and make a nice 39? With a 4" stroker kit... A 318 block would be awesome!

First off I gotta say that's gunna make a NICE ride and should be a good build  {cool} . I've done a couple of both big block and small block truck's , 4 wld & 2 wld ( of course I kinnda got a soft spot for steps lol ) and I allway's like a good big block truck , But what is it set up for now and how is your budget for the build . If it's set up for a small block then you have everything you need to put one back in and you can make a small block scearm if you do it right . Hell the small block in mine now will spin the tire's if you don't watch your throttle when the ground is just a little damp or cold . It's kinnda funny seeing a 4x4 brake loose so easy and all I tell people when they ask what I've got under the hood is " It's just a lil 318" . lol Or I take off from a light and I look in my rear veiw mirror and I see a half a dozen heads sticking out there windows from on coming trafic looking back at me with the WTF look on there face's  . lol  So nomatter which way you go your not going to go wrong because after all it is a MOPAR truck and you can't beat um .

No I dont think I'll turn it into a 4wd... It's gonna be my street rod. Nice tire roaster that takes down local ricers ;). I have my 91 to make a nice 4 by with.

So, in the next couple days, I'll post of pic of my 318 I have and I was wondering if this cam, lunati 60402, with a intake and 4 bbl, wake it up enough or should I tear into it and 0 deck with new pistons like kb 167's?

Yea! I'm super excited I got parts for my truck! I just need a buddy to help with... Maybe I'll get my girl to help me on it  ;D

Got the parts rig in the shop!! After 6 hours of freaking labor trying to get it on and then driving. Found out the timing needs to be done and a good tune up. Possible tranny rebuild in the future, had to add 2 quarts to the tranny just to even make it move and 1 small bottle of brake fluid to make it stop once i got it moving - Didnt feel like running into the back end of my tow rig  ;) - but it now at a - for now- safe place.

Now i have a question. I have a eddy 750 CFM carb and an old eddy performance intake that i plan on adding to this 360, what else besides say headers should i add to it for some more oomph without a complete rebuild. Im asking cause im not quite ready for a full rebuild - financially wise- but i could say throw a few dollars towards a nice cam.... just what else should i do since it will be out. Any nice budget builds out there that work??  ???

If thats a basicly stock 360 then you might find that 750 is gunna be a little big for it and take away from your bottom end torque and power . Personaly I would'nt recomend anything bigger then a 625 cfm . As far as a budjet build ? Maybe you might concider a magnum head swap while you have it apart . The guy you might want to talk to is "RCAddict" . He's real good with building up these motors .  ;D

Hmmm ok... and as for stock, well it will change... i was thinking of not really touching the bottom end and getting say a cam like hughes whiplash cam PN# HUG HMC2336AL-7 or a Lunati 60403 - Lunati Voodoo Camshaft... then maybe for heads, so some mild porting and bowl blending.... not sure if going to the 2.02 valve would be beneficial or not.... Suggestions?  and i got my intake but im thinking bout getting a demon, since ive heard lots of good things bout them.... any other suggestions?? they are all much appreciated!!  :D :D
