What motor is in the truck? I found a crew cab, short narrow bed truck once with a slant 6. It would have been rated as at least a 1 ton, probably 1 1/2 tons. Just couldn't come up with the cash...
there was a 1964 2door 4x4 here (Batesville, AR) about 3 weeks ago at some little local dealer for $1000. it was there maybe 6hrs and looked really really clean. i saw it on the way to work and was gone by 2pm. (like i _REALLY_ needed another vehicle to restore. my 66 galaxie's engine is in enough pieces as it is!). seeing this one makes me wish i'd been late to work that morning...lol
The engine is a 318 with 9000 miles on it after rebuild, or so I have been told. Once I get it I can get a little bit more info as to the transmission, gearing and all that.
sweet truck!the only thing i would change asap is get rid of them blocks front and rear.blocks are not safe in the front, and them back blocks are humongous.otherwise definately a clean sweet truck.
Wow, thats funny, mine thinksthe same thing about my r/c. she thinks i'm crazy cause i'm gonna trade her mazda for another r/c, (she does have my 300 to drive) i hate the mazda and the guy with r/c just wants a gas saver. she told me i do not need two r/c's but i'll deal with that when i meet the guy a do the trade

I like the way the truck sits right now, so if I do take them out, what is the proper way of getting that much lift and will I have to change anything with the drivelines? Sorry, I have had a couple projects in the past but no undercarriage work at all, newbie to this kind of stuff. Old guys can learn new tricks to...
New springs arent that bad to install. Should be pretty straightforward for you. Also you can hit up another member, Jungle Jim. He fabs up some awesome spring hangars. One way or the other and you'll be in good shape.
That's one cool beast of a truck. You don't see them old gems too often. Love the classic spare tire as well... could it be the original?! Nah... well maybe...
Good news all, after waiting almost 4 weeks for the shipping company to get their head out of their ash...."The Dodge" is finally on its way. It will be at my house sometime on Wednesday, to bad that I am working and will not see it for another 5 weeks...dammit
Well the day finally came and the truck has made it to TN. It took forever, the shipping company was having a hard time with it due to the size of it. Well "The Dodge" finally made it to the house yesterday. Here are some pics of her on the trailer.
